The Commissioner’s Court meeting on Friday, 1/30/26 is most important to residents of Anderson County.
They will be addressing the grant that will allow the court to replace/repair the stained-glass dome in the county courthouse. It has to be approved and started so it can be finished by November 30. If not finished and paid for by the end of the year, and or the terms of the grant are not followed, the county will have to remit the grant money back to the federal government. Our commissioner's Court is responsible for using it correctly, or the money for the repairs will have to come out of the budget. It is a State Law that the courthouse must be maintained.
The contract to fix it requires that we have an architect to satisfy the Historical Society and the State of Texas. Some of our commissioners have refused to address the issue several times over the last year and are now facing a deadline. If not done correctly, the county will have to remit over $900,000 of the grant. If approved, the money spent to fix the dome can be used to apply for a matching grant this year for other repairs.
Please get in touch with your commissioner and ask them to vote YES on this issue before this priceless piece of lead glass is lost to our beautiful county.

There is no such thing as a typical Republican. We don't like to play follow-the-leader or circle the wagons to protect a bad apple. We're made up of independent thinkers and as such - it seems sometimes that we can't get along with each other. We DO like to discuss our differences. We're thinkers and embrace independence. We don't want big government oversight nor do we believe our forefathers wanted top-down rulers. They believed strongly in state's rights. We want LEGAL immigration. We support our police officers and want a strong and competent military. Filling quotas for any position without having the appropriate credentials makes us all weaker.
